Maybe a quick introduction is in place..as to most of you, if not all, it seems I came out of nowhere with some knowledge to share on this component...

I am Danny, company owner in The Netherlands which is in Europe. Some more personal data you can find my profile.

I have been working with com_properties on a day to day basis almost a full year now. And I've been in close contact with Fabio.

I've have used the component for houses but also have modified it by copying and renaming the module so it now handles 11 other products suchs as cars, planes, boats etc each with their own database tables. The example is in my signature. All highly modified both in template and functionality.

Currently I'm working on a new project and I will share this with you as soon as it's released.

I will do my best to answer questions asked in the forum.

Thank you, and no. This was custom build for my client using an external designer. The design, name and all images are under copyright.
I will however help you, where possible, to reproduce items. But I hope you understand I can't give away something that does not belong to me.

Are you working with Fabio on the development of the component?
If yes. Why not use a site like JoomlaCode?
This would incorporate the bug fix reassembled in this forum ...

No I'm not working on the development.
I'm just buidling sites for clients. The clients I have all have very special needs so I need to dig deep inside the code most of the time thus I learn a lot.
The basic concept of com_property is really good so I do not only use this module for houses. I tweak it a lot so it can also handle other products.

You JoomlaCode idea is very good. Fabio: if you read this: is there a reason why you do not want to put it under JoomlaCode?

Hi guys, first thing I want to say thank you to all of you and in particular to Fabio for his (our ) great component.

The idea of inclusive development is exciting because many of us dig into the code and find little things that can be improved and it will be wonderful share to others.

Said this, I've set repositories in gitorious.org, it's a cool place for free software development, and I would be happy if someone else will join (there is a com-properties-developers team, at the moment I'm alone).

Gitorious (more info here) offer great things like merge-requests [1] and code reviews (example), online diffs (example) and so on. But of course I like the idea of JoomlaCode too (I don't know svn, here there is a comparison with Git).

[1]: In particular this is perfect for "casual contributors" without commit permission.
